Participants will be given 48-hours for each event to create one look telling the story of the Washington Avenue Garment District through time. The sequel to Pins and Needles Designer Competition, Fashion Anarchy takes the concept to a more industry-related event. Each event will encapsulate a theme:
1. May 9th - The Garment District Past
2. July 18th - The Garment District Present
3. September 12 - The Garment District Future
4. November 9– FINAL COMPETITION
The Preliminary Challenge (Events 1-3): Three designers will work in the Saint Louis Fashion Fund creative space with donated materials for 48-hours. The final hour of the competition will occur during a cocktail party. Audience members will witness the final touches of the event to include hair and makeup and fitting a live model before the clock runs out and judging begins.
The event runs from 6:30PM to 9:00PM at the Saint Louis Fashion Fund. A VIP reception from 5:30-6:30 will be hosted by Stephens Institute of Business and Arts prior to each competition. SIBA is located next door to SLFF.
The Final Challenge: The winner from each preliminary challenge will go head-to-head in the final challenge. The final event is “live” at The Last Hotel. Designers will design inside the lobby of the hotel. Audiences will have a chance to see the designers create in person, via live social media or by looking through the window of the hotel, recreating the feel of the old Garment District.
